Missions

We seek to be a church on the go in our missions approach.  Jesus commissions his disciples when he says in Matthew 28:18-20, “all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.  And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”  Later when he returns after his death, burial and resurrection he tells his disciples in Acts 1:8 that we “… will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”  Jesus wants His people to be spreading the Good News of His love wherever we go.

These verses tell us that we should be involved in outreach, ministry and missions wherever we go.  Our members take this very seriously.  We seek to do outreach, ministry and missions of love wherever we go.  We have served our local communities be giving supplies to our elementary schools, having a backpack day in the park for grades 1-6 (we provide school supplies in a bag for each child), we support one of our homeless feeding ministries, and take meals, blankets, and socks in the winter for the homeless.

We have some members who have participated in doing missions across the country.  We have served in New Orleans during the rebuilding after hurricane Katrina.  Others have served in Texas, Tennessee, Florida, and Georgia.  Some have served in different missions projects in the state in places such as Whitley County, Berea, Louisville and others.

Others in our church have done outreach, ministry and/or missions in foreign countries.  Some of the countries where we have done this are England, France, Israel, Mexico, and Haiti.  We know there will be more places in the future as the Lord provides.

Come join us in reaching the world by sharing the greatest story and the greatest person ever.
